The Sierra by Lancaster Cabins is a 400-square-foot park model log cabin that packs an impressive amount of sleeping space into its 12' x 34' footprint.
Built with real log construction and warm pine finishes throughout, this cabin leans heavily into the traditional rustic cabin feel. Inside, you'll find a private bedroom, built-in bunk beds, a large sleeping loft, full kitchen, bathroom, dining area, and plenty of custom-built storage—making it especially well suited for a family getaway, hunting cabin, or vacation rental.

A covered 10-foot porch extends across the front of the Sierra, adding valuable outdoor living space before you even step inside.
It gives the cabin a more traditional log-home appearance while also creating a comfortable spot for a couple of chairs, morning coffee, or relaxing outside during a weekend getaway. On a wooded or scenic property, this porch could easily become one of the most-used areas of the cabin.

The front living area immediately shows off the cabin's warm wood interior, with pine covering the walls, floors, and ceiling.
A custom-built futon provides seating during the day and can convert into another sleeping space when needed. Even with the kitchen and dining area nearby, the 12-foot width gives the room enough space to feel open and comfortable.

The Sierra's U-shaped kitchen makes excellent use of the available space.
It includes an electric range and oven, microwave, refrigerator, plenty of custom cabinetry, and a breakfast bar with three handmade stools.
Nearby, a custom live-edge dining table provides seating for four, giving families or groups a proper place to sit down for meals instead of relying entirely on the kitchen counter.

The bathroom is simple but full of handcrafted details.
There's a vanity with a custom medicine cabinet, handmade wood hardware and towel holders, traditional flushing toilet, and an easy-to-maintain fiberglass shower.
The wood accents throughout help the bathroom feel connected to the rest of the cabin's rustic design.

Just outside the private bedroom are two built-in bunk beds, creating a dedicated sleeping area for kids or additional guests.
Two deep drawers underneath provide useful storage, while an open area nearby leaves room for luggage or other belongings.

The main-floor bedroom currently holds a queen-size bed, although the room is wide enough that a king could potentially fit with some furniture rearrangement.
There's also a large custom dresser, mounted TV, mini-split, and a stackable washer and dryer—a particularly practical feature for longer stays.

Above the main floor is an additional sleeping loft with two full-size beds.
That gives the Sierra several separate sleeping areas, although with only one bathroom, we'd probably keep the guest count more conservative for longer stays.

The Sierra feels especially well suited for anyone looking for a traditional log cabin experience without needing a large footprint.
Between the private bedroom, bunks, loft, convertible futon, full kitchen, laundry, and generous storage, there's a surprising amount packed into just 400 square feet.

We could easily see this working as a weekend cabin, family getaway, hunting retreat, or short-term rental—especially on a wooded or scenic property.
Would you use the Sierra as a family vacation cabin or live in it full-time?
