Built as a one-of-a-kind showcase home for TinyFest 2026, this 340-sqft tiny house blends handcrafted artistry, luxury finishes, and nature-inspired design into one unforgettable space.
Owner and builder Maegan creates a completely unique showcase home for TinyFest each year, using it as an opportunity to push her creativity and experiment with new techniques. The Swallow's Nest is the result of that vision—a tiny home where nearly every detail was custom designed and handcrafted specifically for this build.
From its dramatic roofline and wraparound deck to the living green roof and glowing stone feature wall, every element was thoughtfully considered. While many luxury tiny homes focus on premium materials alone, the Swallow's Nest tells a story through its craftsmanship, making it one of the most memorable homes we've ever toured.

🍳 Kitchen
The kitchen may be our favorite room in the home.
The custom cabinetry features textured high-pressure laminate panels imported from Italy. Each panel has subtle dimension and texture, giving the cabinets an organic feel that practically invites you to run your hand across them.
Many of the appliances—including the refrigerator—are hidden behind matching cabinet panels, helping maintain the clean, uninterrupted design. A 24-inch range provides everything needed for everyday cooking, while the custom island offers additional prep space and hidden storage on the back side.
Above it all hangs one of the home's true showpieces: a hand-fused glass chandelier that Maegan created specifically for this year's TinyFest home. Rather than purchasing a decorative light fixture, she learned the art of glass fusing herself, transforming the island into the centerpiece of the entire house.
🛋️ Living Room
Stepping into the Swallow's Nest, you're immediately welcomed into a living room that feels warm, artistic, and inviting. Rather than relying on trendy finishes, the space embraces handcrafted details inspired by nature.
The home's theme comes to life through a custom Swallow's Nest art installation, which cleverly disguises the electrical panel while becoming one of the room's signature design elements. It's a perfect example of how beauty and function are blended throughout the home.
There's plenty of room for a full-size sofa, making the space feel comfortable without sacrificing openness. Large windows flood the room with natural light, while the surrounding craftsmanship makes the entire space feel more like a custom-built cabin than a traditional tiny house.
🛏️ Bedroom
The bedroom continues the home's nature-inspired story in a subtle but beautiful way.
Behind the queen-size bed, a hand-textured accent wall features sculpted swallow birds that echo the Swallow's Nest theme found throughout the home. It's another handcrafted detail that gives the bedroom its own identity while tying into the overall design.
Storage is surprisingly generous. Along one wall are over 100 inches (more than 8 feet) of built-in cabinetry, providing ample room for clothing and everyday essentials without overwhelming the space.
One of our favorite features is the glass door leading directly onto the wraparound deck. Waking up and stepping outside with a morning coffee would be a pretty incredible way to start the day.
🛁 Bathroom
The bathroom is easily one of the most impressive we've seen in a tiny house.
Hidden neatly behind cabinetry is a washer and dryer, allowing the home to function comfortably for full-time living without disrupting the clean design.
The real showstopper, however, is the custom shower.
Built from a sculpted solid-surface material, the shower has an organic texture that almost resembles carved stone. Integrated LED backlighting causes the entire wall to softly glow, creating an atmosphere that feels more like a luxury spa than a tiny home bathroom.
And it doesn't stop there. The shower includes a rain shower head, handheld shower, and four body sprayers, giving you multiple ways to customize your shower experience. It's one of those spaces you simply have to see—and touch—to fully appreciate.
🧺 Storage
For a home filled with artistic details, the Swallow's Nest is surprisingly practical.
Storage has been thoughtfully integrated throughout the kitchen, bedroom, and bathroom, allowing everyday essentials to disappear behind beautifully crafted cabinetry. Hidden appliances, concealed laundry, and abundant built-in storage help maintain the home's clean, uncluttered appearance.
Nothing feels like it was added as an afterthought—every cabinet and storage solution is seamlessly incorporated into the overall design.
🌿 Outdoor Living
The exterior is every bit as impressive as the inside.
A generous wraparound deck extends the living space outdoors, anchored by an impressive 8-foot bifold glass door that opens the living room to the surrounding landscape.
The exterior combines recycled rusted steel siding, modern metal cladding, tempered windows, and fire-rated materials, creating a home that's both durable and visually striking.
Above, the living green roof continues the home's connection to nature. Complete with an automated irrigation system, the roof changes with the seasons while helping soften the home's architectural lines.
Perhaps the most unforgettable exterior detail is the backlit real-stone feature wall. Thin slices of natural stone are mounted over a resin backing and illuminated from behind with LEDs, causing the stone to glow beautifully after sunset. It's the kind of feature that instantly becomes a conversation starter and perfectly captures the artistic spirit of the Swallow's Nest.
