Tucked onto six wooded acres in Hendersonville, North Carolina, the Barn at Edenwood is one of the more memorable tiny-house stays we've experienced in the Blue Ridge Mountains.
Designed as a private getaway for two, the two-story cabin pairs a cozy main-floor sleeping and living space with a dramatic wall of windows overlooking the property's private pond. Upstairs, an entire loft is dedicated to a massive soaking tub—turning what could have been a conventional sleeping loft into one of the home's most unique features.
We stayed here while filming in Western North Carolina and loved how secluded the property felt while still being within easy driving distance of Hendersonville and Asheville. At the end of the article, there is a video walkthrough tour of this beautiful tiny home, as well as booking information!

Before stepping inside, the Barn has a covered, screened-in porch with room for outdoor dining.
It's an especially useful feature in the warmer months, letting you enjoy breakfast, dinner, or an evening outside without worrying as much about insects.
Combined with the surrounding woods and pond, the porch feels like another living space rather than simply an entry into the cabin.

Inside, the main floor uses an open studio-style layout with the king-size sleeping area positioned directly in front of the home's enormous windows.
That view is easily the centerpiece of the Barn. Rather than filling the space with a traditional entertainment setup, the landscape itself becomes the focal point.
A cozy chair near the windows creates an ideal reading or coffee spot, while the ground-floor bed means you don't need to climb into a loft every night—a feature we always appreciate in a tiny home.

The kitchenette is intentionally simple, with a mini refrigerator, microwave, small sink, Nespresso machine, and open shelving.
There's no traditional cooktop inside, so this setup is better suited to a weekend getaway than full-time living. Guests can also cook outside using the property's fire pit and grill setup.
Nearby, a hinged desk folds down from the wall, providing a compact workspace without permanently taking up valuable floor space.

Just inside the entrance is a surprisingly spacious full bathroom separated by a sliding barn door.
It includes a vanity, traditional flushing toilet, and tiled walk-in shower with an exposed rainfall shower system.
The warm finishes and larger shower give the bathroom a much more residential feel than we typically see in a tiny vacation cabin.

Instead of using the second floor as another bedroom, the Barn dedicates its loft almost entirely to relaxation.
Steep ship-ladder-style stairs lead to an oversized soaking tub positioned in front of the upper windows. The tub holds roughly 150 gallons and overlooks the trees and pond below, creating what might be the best vantage point in the entire cabin.
It's an unusual use of loft space, but for a home designed specifically as a couples' getaway, it makes perfect sense.

The setting is just as much a part of the experience as the house itself.
The Barn sits on Edenwood's private six-acre wooded property, with a pond, fire pit, walking areas, and plenty of space to simply relax outside. The property feels secluded, although downtown Hendersonville is only about 12 minutes away, with DuPont State Forest, Pisgah National Forest, Asheville, and the Blue Ridge Parkway all within easy reach.

The Barn isn't trying to function like a downsized traditional house—and that's part of what makes it work so well.
Instead, nearly every design choice prioritizes the experience of staying here: the enormous wall of windows, ground-floor king bed, screened porch, quiet pond views, and an entire loft dedicated to a soaking tub.
After staying here ourselves, the combination of privacy, thoughtful design, and access to the surrounding property made this one of our favorite weekend stays in North Carolina.
If you're looking for a quiet couples' getaway near Hendersonville or Asheville, this is the kind of tiny home where spending time at the property can be just as enjoyable as exploring the surrounding mountains.
Would the spa loft or the wall of windows be your favorite feature?
